Collectors (RCW-2000)
Overview
Collectors are the midpoint between your temperature devices and the internet. They communicate with the devices using a wireless technology called LoRa, which is both Long Range and low power, ideally suited for Internet Of Things (IoT) sensors. They also connect to the internet via WiFi and send the temperature data to the MSX platform for processing.
We provide two models of collector, Collector12 and Collector30:
Collector12 - maximum of 12 devices, minimum measurement interval for devices is 1 minute
Collector30 - maximum of 30 devices, minimum measurement interval for devices is 5 minutes.
They have an internal backup battery that can power the collector for up to two days in the event of a power cut or being unplugged. As long as there is still a WiFi connection (this will normally require a WiFi router with its own backup power and 3G/4G/5G mobile connectivity) the data will continue to be sent to the server. Bear in mind the devices also store data internally if they can’t connect, and upload this “offline” data when they come back online.
